Today’s image is more artwork by Savannah. I love children’s art because they have yet to believe that they are not creative. The public school system hasn’t sucked all the creativity out of them yet.
Savannah made a book for me today. It’s about two girls named Alie and Alison who are planning a sleepover. I can only assume there’s an actual sleepover in our near future!

I must have been a good boy today. Amy had a pan of peanut butter cookies on the stove when I got home from work.

I noticed an entire brick wall just around the corner from my work that would make a great grunge background with old bricks and rust. I have seen a lot of images for sale as photoshop-ready web design backgrounds that are similar.
I will definitely go back to this spot in the future to experiment with different compositions and lighting. I’m not sure this shot is exactly what I had in mind, but it will be a good reminder to explore this spot again. Hopefully no one will redecorate any time soon.

We’re having a string of gray and uninspiring winter days in Tennessee so I again turned indoors for today’s photo.
This is a doll/purse that I got for Savannah from the Ben Thanh Market last week in Vietnam. The main reason it’s interesting to me is all the haggling that went on to get it.
Ben Thanh Market is a must see if you’re in the area. It’s unlike any shopping I’ve ever experienced, that’s for sure!

Texas Roadhouse Peanuts that is. Texas Roadhouse is becoming one of our favorite restaurants. We had some gift card money left over from a Christmas gift so we decided to go back there this evening.
Faced with my commitment making a photo every day, I put this bit of art together while we waited on our food.

We went to our high school’s basketball game and this is how Savannah wanted to dress. Luckily she pulled off most of this garb before we went into the gym.
Eight year old minds are strange, but we were proud of her for making the honor roll for this nine weeks period.

I just noticed this old baseball that is own “display” in the spare room in my home. It represents my one and only home run from little league.
If you’re thinking that’s a pretty weak subject for photo, then your right. What makes it a bit more compelling, is one of the signatures.
The John White who signed the ball back in 1983 is John Paul White of The Civil Wars. I also played guitar in a band with John in the early nineties. I’m happy to give him a plug. Make sure you check out the site and follow him on Twitter.

Well I have much to be thankful for today. After a 25 hour trip including one 13 hour and 48 minute flight from Hong Kong to Chicago, I finally made it home from Vietnam.
When I arrived, we had a mini celebration. Savannah had made this welcome home sign for me and I think it captures the essence of today.
