I took a little time this morning and had lunch at SLS with Savannah. As elementary school lunch time generally is, we were rushed, but we had a good time.

The South Lawrence School second graders visited Helen Keller’s Birthplace in Tuscumbia AL yesterday and I tagged along per Savannah’s request. I had never been to Ivy Green so she didn’t have to twist my arm. Everyone had a good time and learned a lot about Helen Keller. I’m planning on taking the family back to see “The Miracle Worker” drama at Ivy Green next summer. Can’t believe we haven’t gone before now actually! If you have not visited, I highly recommend it.

I love giving creative Christmas gifts. It’s just so much more fun than buying something off the shelf.
I’ve lost count, but I believe 2007 marks the ninth year that I’ve created photo calendars for my family. Every year I scare them by telling them that I just didn’t make enough photos this year to come up with a good calendar. They never take me seriously and I have always managed to put thirteen photos (one for each month and one for the cover) from the year gone by into a calendar that they can enjoy until the next year. Today I’m learning to post from my Flickr account. I’ve been getting back into photography lately and I ran across this photo of Savannah from earlier this year. I just loved her expression in this photo so I decided to use it as the guinea pig of my Flickr posting experiment.
