How to get referrals for your business
29th November 2006
What are your strategies for getting referrals for your business? If you have any kind of business you must get referrals and even more important is having a strategy so that you can get referrals consistently.
Especially if you have a network marketing business.
If you have any kind of business you should be reading Seth Godin. This is the first time I’ve linked to Seth’s Blog, but he is a fantastic marketer and I like to keep up with what he has to say and I recommend you do the same.
Check out this post on Seth’s Blog about getting referrals for your business.

All the software you need for free! (Part 2)
22nd November 2006
Yesterday you read part one of this series about how I trashed the filesystem on my spare Dell PC trying to do a dual-boot install with Ubuntu Linux and restored the XP install successfully. So far so good. Now for the REST of the story. . .
When I did the XP re-install I set aside part of the disk (about 10gb) to install Linux. The GParted utility still didn’t see this formatted partition as a partition. It saw it as unused space. As soon as I created a partition on that space the NTFS partition was “blown away” again. (more…)
All the software you need for free!
21st November 2006
Well. . .sort of. It started when I adopted Firefox as my web browser of choice. The appeal of open source software.
Then I started this blog using WordPress which is another great software that is free and works well. Why not wade a little deeper? Now that I’ve got a DSL connection I can download more faster and get up to speed with the rest of the “power user” world so to speak.

Broadband and Online Videos
14th November 2006
Even though I’ve been web marketing in one way or the other for over three years my family just recently got a broadband connection. I know, I know, but when you live this far back “in the woods” services are a long time coming.
It’s great because now we can watch videos online! You may have missed my first online video. If so you didn’t miss much, but you WILL miss a lot if you don’t consider using video on your website. Don’t wait. I did and I’m playing catch up now.
I’m lucky because I use SiteSell. They make it easy for the beginner as well as providing powerful tools for experienced webmasters. Now they have a great video demo of their service.
Check it out NOW!

Motorcycle Helmet Laws - A perspective
14th November 2006
This isn’t going to be a long rant one way or the other about motorcycle helmet laws. You won’t catch me without mine no matter what the law says, but. . .
I just read about a lady who needs a kidney. She’s hesitant to ask a family member to donate so she is going to move to Florida.
Why?
Florida has no motorcycle helmet law requiring riders to wear them.
“Do you know what they call motorcycle riders in Florida?” Bullard asked. “They are called ‘organ donors.’ ”
I’ve heard lots of reasons for moving to Florida but this is a new one! Read the entire article if you must. . .
My favorite passage from the Bible
08th November 2006
John 17
Jesus Christ prayed for ME individually and He prayed for YOU too. As He was facing His brutal crucifixion which would provide the bridge into an everlasting life for mankind he prayed for us.
Wow. I get chills each time I really dwell on this passage.
I just ran across an excellent commentary on this chapter from John. Here’s a highlight:
By the love of the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus, we must revisit this prayer often and consider the nature of our faith in Christ; our hope for eternal life; and the love of God from which Spirit and Truth find their meaning in us. -Don Forss

I’m very thankful that I know Jesus as my Saviour. It is my prayer that you do too. Contact me if you would like more information on how to have the peace that only comes through a relationship with Christ.
The Cure for Writer’s Block
07th November 2006
If you need help writing a:
- resume
- letter (recommendation, resignation, thank you, sympathy, etc.)
- business proposal
- business plan
- essay
- news release
- research paper
Then I suggest you check out Writing Help Central. I just found this site this week. I spent a couple hours exploring and still didn’t get to the end of the content.
Shaun Fawcett is the webmaster. He’s a former government employee from Canada. If he’s a “former” employee then what’s he doing now? He makes his living writing about writing and creating excellent articles that help his website readers to write better.
Since I’m interested in web marketing myself, I decided to check out Shaun’s case study. When you read this case study you will be inspired. What subject are you an expert in? Writing about it could be your next full time income source.
Let me know if you find Writing Help Central helpful to you!
