How can I help?

As part of my business I do website development and hosting, specializing in WordPress.

I’ve had several requests recently for help with customizing WordPress themes so there seems to be a demand for those small jobs where you just want a search form added or moved to a certain spot, or you need help with getting a particular plugin working right.

So I’ve set up this page as a way for you to see some of my work so that you can decide for yourself whether you can use my WordPress design services and ultimately want to hire me. No job is too small and if your job is too big I’ll let you know right away. I’d love to help everyone for free because I love doing it, but my wife says I need to help put food on the table :-0. So. . .

I’m still working on pricing for specific projects, but in the mean time feel free to contact me with the details of your project and we’ll go from there. My minimum charge is $30 USD.

My Work

I work primarily with iThemes premium WordPress themes. For an example of my work, check out these two sites.

The Loretto United Methodist Church site was built based on iTheme’s bSocial theme. The appearance is only mildly customized with new header graphics, and a search form in the header. For calendar functionality the wp_calendar plugin was used to pull data from the Church’s Google Calendar.

St Joseph First Baptist Church was ambitious in what their site was to accomplish. First off they have three staff memebers besides the pastor who will be adding content so we went for a magazine style front page where multiple category streams are displayed. To do this I modified the iThemes’ Flexx Professional theme which is really meant to be a blogging theme.

We added the Featured Content Gallery to the custom home page as well as customizing the header graphic.

Under the hood, I again used the Google Calendar plugin and added the Sermon Browser Plugin for management of audio files and podcasts. It works really well and I highly recommend it for that purpose.

They wanted the option to publish public prayer requests as a list so I customized a category archive template so that just the title and the contents of a custom field are displayed. You can see the prayer list archive here.

Another site I completed in 2009 was WeBeJeeping.com for Gilbert Jeeps and 4×4’s in Athens AL. I published a more detailed post about this site. You can read it here.
