My attitude is much better today since I’m comfortably settled in my own favorite chair. I did however wake up very early this morning in Watertown.
Our plane arrived last night and sat there through a small snowfall. When I saw it I kept picturing it with “De-Ice Me” written with a finger on the windshield, similar to the “wash me” that I sometimes see on the back of a dusty and dirty car.
The de-icing took almost an hour, during which time the main engines had to run because the auxiliary power for the interior was not working. By that time they had to shut down the engines and top off the fuel supply.
We had another delay at O’Hare but ended up arriving at Huntsville only an hour late (or 19 hours late depending on which schedule you’d rather use).
I shot this really quickly at about 6:45 a.m. It was about 15 deg. Fahrenheit. I thought the colors of the artificial lights and the pre-dawn sky made for a fairly strong image.
