I just had to share this post from Ken Rockwell. It's very difficult not to get sucked in to “needing” all the new photo gear you see and I admit to having the same affliction. Ken always brings me back to earth though. In this latest article, titled It's Not About Your Camera, Ken reminds us that our ability to see and having the patience to be in the right place at the right time is much more important than the camera or other gear we have in our bag. If you like that article, read Ken's classic Your Camera Doesn't Matter post too.
I mention Ken Rockwell from time to time and most people have never heard of him. If you Google just about anything on photography you're bound to find one of the pages on his site. He is a very prolific writer, photographer and reviewer of photo gear and his advice has never let me down.
As always though…you're mileage may vary! 😉
